Default Skill tomes should give wisdom points

I think that picking up a skill tome that's assiged to you should give you a wisdom point, much the same way that picking up a golden egg at easter gives you a treasure point. Come on, if picking up a book doesn't make you any smarter, what does?

signed, nice idea that sounds also logical and would reduce slightly the grind of the wisdom title and at all, tomes drop so or so as far as i know from Hard Mode and Z-Chest

Normal Tome, say 2 points, Elite Tome 5 points sounds to me imo good

not pernamently..since the title will be easy to achieve with soloing but maybe as a weekend event or something or only if picked up from a locked chest

If implemented it should only apply to elite skills tomes since the title track is based on the gold items.

when putting it only to elite tomes, taking up elite tomes can give direct also some treasure hunter points..., because they drop rarer as gold items at all as as said only in HM
They are so rare, that i would call them a valuable treasure and if we talk about value, no one can say, they have none, otherwise they would not sell for like 5-12 Platin or higher in regard of what kind of class toem you have gotten and imo drops, which such community sell prices are it worth, to give some treasure hunter points too and when it is only 1

But I agree with some of the others and think only for the elite ones.

Tomes are already easy enough to farm. Easier than golds, imo. Wisdom is about learning, and although Tomes would provide 'learning', it would change the way the title is acquired. Change can be good, but the max level of the title is set based on identification. This would allow for the title to be maxed easier than it is. Go sit in a bot city and buy unIDs for the title.

Unlike other consumables, you cannot use them indefinitely.

Tomes are a 'bonus' to get skills learned easily without consuming an skill point.

Picking a Tome from the ground? Maybe.
Using tomes? Not unless learning ANY skill gives Wisdom points. And they retroactively give wisdom points for every skill a character has, exceptiong signets of capture.

Tomes = not paying 1K to learn a simple skill. No reason to add another large bonus to them. Wisdom Title track is fine as it is.

I actually think that using normal tomes (instead of picking them up) would be a good use for this title as well.

The rationale is...since USING elite tomes already give you points for the Skill Hunter title, I think it's a pretty good idea to allow USING normal tomes to give you points for the Wisdom title. Neat idea.

ou cannot compare a grind title with an achievemnt title.

When you use an Elite tome, you get a certain point towards a title. A point that you will never be able to acquire again. A concrete point. The point that THAT elite skill grants you.

When you acquire wisdom points, every single point is the same as the rest. It doesn't matter which gold item you identify, as long as you identify another one.

Tomes are a bonus, and 'extra' in themselves. They are not the way to get skills, they are an alternate way to get skills.
This would 'force' a bit that.

I'm a bit confused as the difference between the two.

With normal tomes, you can: (1) find one; (2) buy one from someone else; or (3) buy the skill from a skill trainer for 1K once you get a skill point.

With elite tomes, you can: (1) find one; (2) buy one from someone else; or (3) buy a signet of capture from a skill trainer for 1K once you get a skill point, and then go kill the boss and get the skill.

So, in both instances, you can simply buy what you need from someone else. I guess the argument is that because you have to take that extra step (i.e. kill a boss) for the alternative way to get the skill, it should get credit to a title while the other path shouldn't?

Doesn't seem like that material of a difference to me.

Regarding the other route to getting the Wisdom title, most people basically "buy" your way to that title as well by simply purchasing unidentified gold items from other players. Don't really see the difference between that and buying tomes from other players (especially since the cost is comparable)...

Elit and normal tomes are the same. Normal tomes just don't give anything for a title because there is no title for getting normal skills.

Currently, there is a total of 1319 skills, including PvE ones.
1235 PVP ones, from those, 945 are normal and 290 elite.
That makes a total of 945 points hat would be acquirable in this way, froma total of 10,000 points in the wisdom title.

So. When you learn an elite skill using a signet of capture, you get an Elite Hunter point. And so you do when you earn it using a tome. IT doesn't matter the way only that you learn an elite skill.

But if you suggest that using a tome increases the wisdom title, but NOT learning the skill with a quest or by using an skill trainer. That absolutely makes no sense.

It was already a mistake to make the Wisdom consider the Identified gold items instead of the picked rare items, allowing the title to be just bought... There's no need to increase it by making those that use tomes earn points that those that make quests or pay trainers won't earn.

LOL, a gaining Wisdom for "picking up a Tome"

Go to the library, get a book, leave it in your car for a week and return it.

You picked up a book, but did you gain any wisdom?

The title is fine and tomes only aid bots and should be deleted
